Many Miles of Mistletoe
linking open wounds and happy reunions
Mortality Mirrors fathomless depthsof hungry souls, longing for absolution
Thanks be to Reason--
to sharing unhampered by vanity
to redefining sacrifice
to breaking simple bread together
No roasted suckling pigs with lifeless jowls dripping with sweet nectar,
but a simple meal with a timeless themelove, acceptance and charity
at times interrupted by
uncomfortable laughter ....whirling in the winds of decided coincidence
while taking a stroll on common ground
in a place where tokens are not accepted
a place where as if dutifully,
wisps of tangled words swirl about
yet land safely -- miraculously with their original intent
Many Miles of Mistletoe
opening hearts and dressing wounds
Happy reunions...and reunions missed
but sending warm thoughts, laughter and memories of Christmas together
............through Many Miles of Mistletoe.
